Through intentional planning and organizing, Mx. Juneteenth will capture the spirit of the Juneteenth holiday by providing a liberatory space that centers on radical politics, community care, and expressive joy.

WHO WE ARE

Alex

Hi, I'm Alex/Juanita! Alex Frazier (they/them) is a fat, Black, trans, HIV Positive, artist, organizer and educator from Cleveand, Ohio. They host a podcast as their drag persona Juanita Bind'Em alongside their co-host Avery Ware called Drag From the Left. They currently work in public health as the Outreach and Education Coordinator for sexual health program OHIV.org. There you may also see them as their sexual health alters Shay & TK. Alex is one of the founding members of Mx. Juneteenth and focuses on Fundraising, and Programming.





Avery

Hi, I'm Avery! Avery Ware (he/they) is a writer and educator in Cleveland, Ohio by way of Lorain. They are the co-host of Drag from the Left (#DragFTL) Podcast. Avery holds their MA in Americana Studies from Youngstown University. Their writing and research covers themes of queer desirability politics and race relations. Avery is one of the founding members of Mx. Juneteenth and they focus on marketing and PR.





Zoë

Zoë Byron (they/them) is a disabled queer Taiwanese healer, creator, dreamer, organizer, and friend in Cleveland, Ohio, and beyond. Current passions include empowering community, grounding in spirituality and culture, and continuously growing and learning. They can be found practicing yoga, hugging (or arm wrestling) friends, and basking in the sun by the lake. For Mx. Juneteenth, Zoë focuses on Marketing and Accessibility





DeNavya

Hi, I'm DeNavya! Hey there! DeNavya Tolbert aka Navy (She/her) is the Venue director and founder of BLK PunX Press, a local underground venue working to support up-and-coming independent artists here in Cleveland, OH. Their main goal is to create a hub for Queer folx and out casted artists to have an outlet. "Move on over or we'll move on over you"
